The school is proud of its strong, musical tradition – as part of the curriculum, delivered by our specialist music teachers. Our annual whole school Carol Service in Southwell Minster and regular concerts/musicals are much enjoyed. Pupils in Year 6 have the opportunity to perform a musical in the summer term hosted by the Minster School.
The intent of our Music Curriculum is to:
The intended impact of our Music Curriculum is that:
By the end of KS2, we aim for children to have developed a love of music and increased levels of well-being and confidence. Children will have been given the opportunity to participate in wider musical activities. They will gain confidence through performance opportunities in school and within the community. Children will be exposed to, and inspired by, different genres of music. They will also analyse and compose a variety of music. Children will also have had the opportunity to play a variety of tuned and un-tuned instruments.
Mr Buckley is our Music Subject Leader.
