Newark and Sherwood District Summer Athletics
On Thursday 22nd June 2023, Lowe's Wong Junior School took their 32 best athletes to the Newark and Sherwood District Athletics at Magnus Academy.
The elite athletes from over 15 schools took part in track and field events. The atmosphere was electric and the competition was fierce! Every single event was incredibly close with some races needing to go to video technology on the line!
The Lowe's Wong children were outstanding! Their behaviour, sportsmanship and performances on the track and field were exceptional. Whether they won or lost, their attitude to their opponents was exemplary! We are incredibly proud of them and all their success. Many gold, silver and bronze medals were won and the icing on the cake was probably gold in the 100m relay for both the Year 6 boys and Year 6 girls - well done!
Many thanks go to the organisers and in particular, Magnus Academy and Dave Webster who is the chairman of the Newark and Sherwood Primary School Sports Association. There were lots of smiling faces at the event which is what it is all about!
